About Our Event

The first Chefs for PATH Event was held in 2009 and was the product of the vision of a Leadership McLean County team.  The event is a friendly competition between some of the top local chefs in the area.

Each chef is provided specific ingredients from Sysco Foods as well as a list of acceptable items that they may use from their restaurants.  Additionally, they are given a $100 gift card to Green Top Grocery where they can choose anything they would like, the only stipulation is that they must use the ingredient in every serving.  Ticket holders enjoy tasting the preparations of each chef as they rotate through the stations during the gala.  After guests have completed the rotations they vote for their favorite dish.  Votes are tallied and two finalists are announced.  The top vote getters move to the “live cooking stage” with just their knives and one assistant chef.  A mystery basket is unveiled, the chefs have a few minutes to prepare their menu’s and then it’s time for the live cook-off.

Five judges, guided by a chef from Sysco Foods, will taste the final dishes and using their tally sheets a winner of Chefs for PATH is determined.

Throughout the event guests enjoy live and silent auctions.  Our signature martini, the Path-tini, and special on-tap beer, can be found at our two cash bars.

Invitations for this year’s events are being sent out 2/15/2020 to past participants.

Tickets are $65 each or $520 per table of eight.

Early Bird Special: purchase tickets before March 3 and obtain an table of eight for $450.
