Adult Protective Services

PATH receives, responds to and investigates allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation to people living in the community and who are 60 years of age and older and those who are 18-59 with a disability. PATH covers McLean and Livingston counties.


The State of Illinois defines seven forms of abuse:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Confinement
  • Deprivation
  • Passive neglect
  • Financial exploitation

Reports of suspected abuse can be made anonymously and are confidential. To make an abuse report for someone who is 60 and older or 18-59 with a disability, call PATH at 309-827-4005 or call the 24/7 statewide hotline at 1-866-800-1409.
